Cats For You?
During the SARS period, ordinary stray cats

were mistakenly thought to be capable of spreading the SARS virus.
SARS outbreak started because of people eating some SARS-infected civet cats in Guangdong, China in 2003.
The term, civet cat,

is a misnomer. A civet cat is more closely related to a raccoon than a cat.
A massive search and kill operation was launched in Singapore during that time and as many as 200 cats were terminated per day.
The Cats Welfare Society and a team of volunteers started its own campaign to re-habilitate the stray cats, and housed the healthy ones to prevent merciless killings.
Robin and his close friend, Christabelle, together with her team, took in about 150 cats their house and have been providing a "temporary" animal shelter, hoping that once the pandemic is over, the cats can be re-homed or adopted.
So if you know of anyone who wish to adopt a cat, a kitten, or who is willing to support such a cause in animal welfare and protection, please let Robin know.
No cash donations please. Food, kitty litter, toys, shampoo, cat adoption and medicines are welcome. If you wish to help them, please email Robin at chantw@gmail.com. Thanks.

Haha! That civet cats in China is actually the 果子狸.
This was the result of stupid authorities killing cats without a research.
Luckily, the SARS went away fast, or else more cats could be killed.

To Fantasyflier: Lucky or not, these cats sure do look adorable. Furthermore, cats are low maintenance creatures. Well, at least they require less maintenance than dogs, i think ;p

Sigh... can you imagine that there is still a cat abuser some where out there running loose? The recent found of 18 dead cats around Jurong areas is really a sickening news...
